In 2001, with approvement of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, the Chinese Language and Culture Education Site was established in our university on the basis of the joint application by Tianjin Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Tianjin University. Under the guidance of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Tianjin Municipal Government, the Chinese language and culture education site undertakes the research and development of teaching materials; the recruitment and training of overseas Chinese and Chinese children with the provision of good teaching and living conditions for learning Chinese language and culture; the reception of overseas Chinese youth summer (winter) camp team; the training and assignment of teachers for overseas Chinese schools at all levels; the theoretical research on overseas Chinese education and new ideas for expanding Chinese education under the new situation.
