I. Course Objective

The program aims to cultivate students who have a good command of cross-cultural knowledge, positive cross-cultural attitude and communication ability. After their graduation, students can adapt to the international education environment, engage in cross-cultural jobs such as administration, teaching, scientific research and international exchange, and become high-level and qualified inter-disciplinary professionals.
Specific Objective:
The program aims to guide the students to have a comprehensive and accurate knowledge of foreign culture, including historical, political, economical and military knowledge, social system and ordinary life, as well as material culture. Students in this program will be equipped with the ability of cross-cultural communication, rational comparison of national culture and foreign culture, development of national culture with the absorption of foreign culture essence, promotion of national culture to foreign culture, and a moderate mastery of foreign language.

 

II. Eligibility
1. Applicants should be foreign citizens with good health, aged below 35;
2. Applicants should be bachelor degree holders with the major related to education or Chinese;
3. Applicants should hold HSK 5 (180 score) certificate, and have a good command of Chinese Language.

 

III. Duration
2.5 years

 

IV. Curriculum
The total credits should be >=36 credits: including major-related degree courses (>=13 credits), compulsory courses (>=9 credits) and optional courses (>=14 credits).

 

 

V. Application Materials
The applicants must fill in and submit two copies of each of the following application materials:
1. Notarized certificate of the highest diploma. If applicants are university students, they must provide an official pre-graduation certificate showing their student status and stating expected graduation date, the original certificate should be provided after admission. If applicants are employed, a proof of employment is to be submitted with the application. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English, the original and a copy must be submitted;
2. Notarized copy of the academic transcripts: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English;
3. A study or research plan not less than 800 words written in English or Chinese. All applicants must submit a study or research plan for the study period in China; (Click here to download template)

4. Study Experience Resume: The start and end time of each education experience must be uninterrupted, and education level should start from senior middle school. (Click here to download template)
5. Two recommendation letters: Applicants need to submit two recommendation letters in English or Chinese from two professors or associate professors; (Click here to download template)
6. Photocopy of passport;

7. Physical Examination Record for Foreigners. (Click here to download template). The medical examinations must cover all the items listed and should be conducted after October, 2021.
8. HSK certificate, If the applicant’s Chinese proficiency has not yet met the requirement of admission, he/she can study Chinese Language at Tianjin university for one year and obtain the required certificate of HSK;
9. Certificate of Non-criminal Records.

 

VI. Deadline for Application: June 30
Registration Date: August 25-26

 

VII. Admission
We will review all the application materials, and admission is based on merit. We will send the Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202) to the final successful applicants by August 1st.

 

VIII. Fees (RMB)
1. Application Fee: 420 (Pay at registration stage)
2. Tuition: 24,900RMB/ person /academic year
Tianjin University shall reserve the right of tuition modification.
3. Medical Insurance Fee: Foreign students who study in universities in China must purchase the medical insurance offered by China Ping’ an Insurance Company at the same time. The insurance duration is for at least six months and 600RMB for each person per academic year.
4. Other fees such as traveling fee, learning materials fee should be paid by students themselves.
5. Accommodation


Note: Dormitory on campus must be booked beforehand. Self-funded students may find their own living accommodation off campus, but they must register to the local police station within 24 hours.
