HONG YEE HUNG was the captain of the 24 Festive Drums team in his high school. He once led the team to participate in the 24 Festive Drums National Elite Competition in 2018 and won the championship and four other awards, including the best creative work, the best musical arranger, the best drum performance and the best team.

When talking about the reasons for choosing Tianjin University, HONG YEE HUNG said that he thought China is a safe country and Tianjin is a beautiful city. “I chose to study chemical engineering and technology since I’ve heard that the major at Tianjin University is very competitive, even among international universities.” Huang added. “As a Malaysian Chinese, I have no language problem. That gives me an additional advantage compared with students from other countries.” Huang believes that he was kind of fated to choose China and Tianjin University for higher education. Huang was impressed with the University motto of “Seek Truth from Facts”, which was quite in accordance with his belief in hard work. He hopes to make the best of the college life here at Tianjin University.
