I. Qualification of Applicants

1. Applicants shall be Indonesia citizens with a valid passport, and the conditions set by the Document No. 12 (2020) of Ministry of Education of the PRC should be met. 

2. Applicant applying for a Bachelor degree should hold a High School diploma and be under the age of 25 ; Applicant applying for a Master degree should hold a Bachelor diploma and be under the age of 35 ;

3. Language Proficiency Requirements: 

① Chinese-taught programs applicants need to submit HSK5 certificates (Score 180 or above). (Native Chinese speakers or applicants taught

in Chinese during master study may be exempted from the HSK test after certified by Tianjin University).(A minimum requirement of HSK4 (Score 180 or above) for bachelor programs in School of International Education)

②English-taught programs applicants need to submit English proficiency certificate (Native English speakers are exempted). TOEFL: no less than 80, IELTS: no less than 6.0. （Applicants who obtained their highest diploma taught in English may provide a certificate of English instruction instead of IELTS or TOEFL certificate）

4. Applicants have good conduct, good physical and mental health, and be willing to abide by the laws and regulations of China and Tianjin university.

IV.How to Apply

Applicants should complete an Online Application on our website（tju.at0086.cn/student）according to the application schedule. Applicants should fill in the application information online and upload the application documents listed below to the Online Application System. Applicants are also required to fill in and sign the relevant application form before uploading a scanned copy of the document onto the "Others" section of the online application platform.

Application Documents

Please upload all the listed documents below to the application system: 

1. Scan Copy of High School，Bachelor and Master Diploma. Scan of pre-graduation certificate is required if the applicants have not gained degree certificate before the application deadline, please resubmit the notarized copy of highest diploma before registration.

2. Scan of notarized copy of the High School，Bachelor and Master academic transcripts (Applicants who will not graduate before the application deadline must provide their current academic transcript. In this case, the completed academic transcripts must be submitted before registration).

3. Photocopy of passport within the validity period after March. 1st, 2026. 

4. Chinese or English Proficiency Certificate (for more requirements, please refer to Qualifications )

5. Study and work Experience Resume (The start and end time of each education experience must be uninterrupted, and education level should start from senior middle school). Please click here to download Study and work Experience Resume template.

6. Form of Provisional Acceptance of International Student by TJU Professor (please click to download the template). Remember to upload it to the application system, if you get the Acceptance letter. Please click here to get contacts of professors (Master Program) .

7. Study or research plan:  for the Bachelor program，no less than 600 words in English or Chinese；for the Master program，no less than 800 words in English or Chinese.

8. Two recommendation letters in English or Chinese from two professors or associate professors (Compulsory for Master applicants).

9. Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (The medical examinations must cover all the items listed and should be conducted after October.1st, 2024).

10. Applicants who are now in China must submit scan of Photocopy of Visa, a certificate that shows the applicant's good record of conduct and performance in their school. If it is an applicant studying at a university in China must submit scan of the Certificate of Withdrawal from present university.

11.  Applicants must submit scan of Certificate of Non-Criminal Records. It should be valid within six months prior to the application date. (Fresh high school graduates are required to submit a certificate that shows the applicant's good record of conduct and performance in their school). 

12. Applicants for Bachelor degree can submit award certificates; Applicants for Master degree can submit published papers or formal acceptance notification and relevant certificates for participating in the research project.

13. Applicants who are still under the age of 18 as of September 1st, 2025 must submit the original guardian certificate issued by the Tianjin District Notary Office, and the Guardian must be a permanent resident of Tianjin.

Application Remarks

Applicants are required to submit scanned images of all required documents at the time of application. All uploaded documents should be in Chinese or in English; otherwise notarial translations in Chinese or English are required. Once translated, the original documents and certified translations are to be submitted together to the application system. 

Please scan the original or notarized application documents in color using a scanner. Images captured by mobile phone or camera are not acceptable. Copies are also not acceptable. 

TJU has the right to request the applicants to provide the original or notarized hard copies of application documents for further qualification checks if the uploaded documents are not sufficient. Applicants shall guarantee all the information and application documents submitted in this application are authentic and accurate, otherwise they will be disqualified from admission. 

V．Evaluation and Admission

TJU enrolls students based on evaluation of applicants’ academic scores, language proficiency and interview performance (Interview date will be announced afterwards). Please pay attention to your email box or log in the online application system of Tianjin University to check the application progress and status. TJU will issue Admission Notice and Visa documents to those admitted in July after receiving the credentials.

VI. Visa Application and Registration

Admitted students should bring their personal and ordinary passport, Certificate of Admission, Visa Application Form (JW202), and original Form of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners (as well as other original documents of physical examination) to the Embassy or Consulate of the People's Republic of China, and apply for a student visa (X1 visa). Students are required to arrive at TJU (along with the required documents) and complete their university registration during the dates indicated in the Admission package.  

Normally, registration is held in late August or early September. All students should present the required original high school certificates, and submit the diploma copies certified by high school conferring institutions or certification authorities upon registration at Tianjin University for enrollment qualification review. Students who fail the enrollment qualification review will be disqualified from enrollment. 

VII.Costs (Unit: RMB Yuan)

(1) Application Fee: RMB 420 (No need to pay at application stage).

(2) Tuition Fees of Undergraduate Programs are subject to the Admission Notice of TJU, please refer to Online Application （tju.at0086.cn/student）. 

(3) Accidental Injury and Hospitalization Insurance: RMB 800year.
