In 2023, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as the CLEC) and Tianjin University jointly established the Tianjin University International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship- Undergraduate Program of Chinese Language + Cross-border E-commerce. It is committed to cultivating senior composite professionals with strong Chinese oral and written expression ability, rich knowledge of humanities and social sciences, mastery of basic theories and application skills of Cross-border e-commerce, and ability of Cross-border e-commerce network marketing, activity planning, platform operation, etc.
I. Program Introduction

5. Core courses:
Elementary, intermediate and advanced (business) comprehensive Chinese;
Elementary, intermediate and advanced (business) Oral Chinese;
Elementary, intermediate and advanced (business) Chinese listening;
Intermediate and advanced (business) Chinese writing;
Introduction of cross-border e-commerce, Cross-border e-commerce online marketing, Cross-border e-commerce practice, Cross-border online shop artistic design, Cross-border e-commerce payment and settlement, International business negotiation practice, Cross-border e-commerce customer service, Cross-border e-commerce comprehensive training, Pedagogy, Educational psychology, Chinese literature classics, Chinese teaching design and practice
II. Eligibility
a) Be a non-Chinese citizen;
b) Be friendly to China, have no criminal record, abide by the laws and regulations of China and the rules and regulations of Tianjin University;
c) Be in good physical and mental health, be in good academic and behavioral standing, be interested in Chinese language education and related work;
d) Age range from 18 to 25 years old (as of September 1, 2024)
III. Qualifications
Applicants shall hold a senior high school diploma and have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK test (Level 4) and 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level).
IV. Scholarship Coverage
Enrollment in September 2024, which is provided for a maximum of four academic years. The scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation fee, living allowance and comprehensive medical insurance fee. The living allowance is RMB 2,500 per month.
Tianjin University provides free accommodation for Scholarship students in Double Room. Applicants who apply to live in Single Room need to give extra payment.

VI. Application Procedures
1. Online registration need to be completed both on the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship application website (cis.chinese.cn) and on Tianjin University International Student Service System（tju.at0086.cn/student).
Application steps are as follows:
For International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship Application Website:
Online registration will be available from March 1, 2024 on the website( cis.chinese.cn). Applicant can log on the website to look for Recommending Institutions and choose Tianjin University as the Host Institutions (Apply for Bachelor program of Chinese Language + Cross-border E-commerce, applicants need to tick the box of Joint Program Scholarships), and then complete and submit application materials online, and upload scanned copies of relevant supporting documents.
For Tianjin University International Student Service System：
Log on the website (tju.at0086.cn/student) to register an account, and then complete and submit application materials online, and upload scanned copies of relevant supporting documents.
2. CLEC will entrust an expert panel to review the applications. The results will be published about three months before the program starts.
3. Applicants can check the application process, materials review and admission results online. The scholarship applicants could print their scholarship certificate online.
4. Tianjin University will confirm the admission with the applicants according to the results of the review.
5. Scholarship winners shall register for admission in accordance with the time, method and procedure specified in the admission notice of Tianjin University.
VII. Application Materials
1. A scanned copy of the passport photo page.
2. A scanned copy of score reports of the HSK/HSKK tests (within the two-year validity).
3. A reference letter by the head of the Recommending Institution.
4. A certificate of the highest diploma (or proof of expected graduation) and an official transcript.
5. Certificate of Non-Criminal Records. Usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.
6. Foreigner Physical Examination Form. The form should be filled in Chinese or English. The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to have the medical examination as the medical results have 6-month validity.
Note: If the documents are not in Chinese or English version, notarization documents should be provided. Certificate of Non-Criminal Records and Foreigner Physical Examination Form should be uploaded to “Basic Information-Upload Passport First Page” together with your scanned copy of passport as a zip file.
VIII. Disclaimer
1. Incomplete or unqualified application materials will not be processed.
2. Applicants will be disqualified from application in case of fraudulent application materials or application materials are completed and submitted by someone else.
3. Scholarship winners who cannot register with Tianjin University on time should inform us about the reasons in written form within 15 days before the admission date. For those who do not register as requested without reason, the scholarship will be canceled.
4. Scholarship will be canceled for those who do not pass the admission physical examination, drop out, or take schooling suspension during the study.
